Guest Designer Today at Lexi's Creations

Hope you're enjoying your Memorial Day Weekend!!

How sweet is this little duck?!?!  This is a digital stamp called Lilli with Tulips that I won over at Lexi's Creations Challenge Blog. I also won a Guest Designer Spot and this is the card I made for her Button's &  Bows Challenge. I never seem to know what to do with buttons so this really was a bit of a challenge for me. :)

The sentiment (computer generated font: Architect) was chosen because that's what I thought when I saw this adorable little duck.  Make sure that you go and check out Lexi's Doodles for more adorable images and her challenge blog too.

Are you like me and keep ribbon that comes on packaging and other things?  The orange sparkle ribbon I used here was tied around a beautiful bouquet of flowers that my dad gave me 10 years ago!!  See I knew I would find a way to use it. :)  LOL  I laid a lace ribbon piece over it to tone it down a little and make the whole card a little more girly. The DP is from DCWV Citrus Stack and the buttons were from my stash.  The whole color scheme fit perfectly for Color Throwdown's Challenge #94 to use these colors.

Cupcake Craft = #93 Summer Delights (The colors)

Teacher Thank You's

Hi Everyone!

With a little over 2 weeks before school is over here in sunny Florida,  I've been busy making a few Teacher Thank You cards.  My step-children will be giving these to their teachers next week along with a little gift.  Check back next week for a look at the gift, it's going to be super cute!!

I LOVE my PaperTrey Ink, Vintage Picnic Basket stamp set.  (I really don't play with my PaperTrey stamps enough.)  I decided to do a paper piecing for the basket on a green patterned paper that I had in my scraps.  The yellow polka dot paper is digital paper from My Time Made Easy, the other DP paper, buttons, twine, sentiment, and ribbon are all from PaperTrey Ink.

I added shadows on the green patterned paper with my C1 Copic Marker to give it depth. And used my Ek Success Binding Edge Border Punch...perfect for teacher cards and school related projects.

Quick. Simple. Done.  If they were all only that easy right?

This card is for the following challenges:

MelJen's Designs = #8 Seeing Spots
Ooh La-La-Creations #54 Bright & Cheerful
Practical Scrappers Patterned Paper
Crazy Challenge - Something New (Border Punch)
Crafty Creations = #68 Encouragement/Celebration
The Pixie Cottage #19 3-D/ Paper Tole

Sorry, no close up today...it came out too blurry and I didn't have time to take more photos.

Copic's Used:

Apples: R29, R27, R24, R20, YG01
Leafs: G07, YG03
Outline & Shadow: C1

2 Cute - To The Moon

Hope everyone had a good weekend, I sure did!  Just spent time with the family relaxing out by our pool, getting a little sun and reading a good book!  Ahhhh, so relaxing!!

I don't do boyish cards very often so I decided to let my 3 year old son choose an image to make a card for Daddy. This is digi stamp is To The Moon from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. Isn't this little guy and his pup adorable? My son calls him Astro Boy!! :)

I knew right away that I didn't want to use blue, yellow or red cardstock, that was just too expected on a spaceship card.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on a shimmery ivory cardstock for the moon and used pop up dots on the actual image to give it dimension. And my favorite part is that is got to use a few of the little star brads that I've had for oh say 5 years or more!! :) I crinkled up a tiny piece of scrap yellow vellum to create the flame and then cut it up. I then used an orange Copic marker to make a few stray marks on the vellum and I just couldn't help myself...I also applied a touch of Shimmerz to it.  Glossy Accents on their helmets and rocket window and a white gel pen to create some stars.  Lots of cute touches but still perfect for a guy.

For the first time ever, I also finished the inside of the card.

This would make a PERFECT Father's Day card!!!

Don't forget that at 2 Cute Rubber Stamps  we are having our 3rd Challenge! Click HERE for all the details and get your FREE digi image.  The winner receives a free stamp!

2 Cute Hula Hoop Hamster - Challenge #3

Well today is the beginning of 2 Cute Rubber Stamps Challenge #3!!    Heidi is offering this adorable digi image Hula Hoop Hamster FREE!!!.

This adorable hamster was quick and a lot of fun to color.  He's perfect for all so many occasions such as Congrats, Happy Birthday, Hello, Thinking of You, etc....  He's so sweet and happy that it makes him perfect to use for just about anything!!

I played with my Flower Soft for the very first time on this card.  I mixed a little of the 2 shades of green I had together to create the grass.  I like it, but I don't see it being my "go to" embellishment.  (Now watch, all my cards will have Flower Soft on them.  LOL)    I used Shimmerz on the hula hoop and on the little roses too.  The DP is DCWV Citrus Stack and of course he's colored with my Copics.  The font is computer generated (Big Caslon), and some Lemon Grass ribbon from my stash.

Make sure to stop by the 2 Cute DT Blog for your free digi image. There will be awesome DT creations for inspiration and details on entering the 2 Cute Challenge #3. I do so hope that some of my readers will participate in the challenge, I'd love to see what you create. 2 Cute - Cloud 9!

Good Morning!!  Hope you're have a good week.

I want to share a little sneak peek into our next challenge at 2 Cute that starts this Thursday (May 13).  Make sure to check out the DT BLOG on Thursday so you can take part in our 3rd challenge and get your FREE new digi image.  The DT is sure to have some wonderful samples to show you too.

I've used the Pet Angel Digi image which I think is simply adorable.  I've used a computer generated font for my sentiment that says, "You put me on Cloud 9!" the font is a combination of Chancer Cursive & Edwardian Script.  The DP and the flower blossom are both from Basic Grey's Cappella line.  I love that stitched blossom.  The ribbon is a beautiful chocolate velvet.  I also used Stickles on their halos.

Oh....wanted to mention that I also used my Nestibilities Labels 1 die and my Vintage Labels stamp from PaperTrey Ink.  They look exactly the same but they don't quite match up, which was disappointing.  :(  In order to make it work on this card I had to pop up the image on foam dots to give it dimension.  Oh well, just thought this info would be helpful.

There's a little hint in the image that I used today as to the next FREE digi image to be given away this Thursday from 2 Cute. Can you guess what the new image will be? I will giveaway to the first person to guess correctly, my card using the new image to be seen on my blog Thursday. Good Luck!!

A 2 Cute Mother's Day!!

Hi Everyone!! This is my first official card for the 2 Cute Rubber Stamps Design Team. I've used their images before and I always have a hard time choosing images to use because they are all just 2 Cute!!! :)

Please make sure you go and check out the 2 Cute DT Blog for great ideas and inspiration and the Store to purchase your 2 Cute stamps. Heidi the owner offers her stamps 3 different ways...cling mount, wood mount, and digi. You can have your images any way YOU prefer! How awesome is THAT?!?!? Oh, and all wood mounted stamps are 50% off off right now, so it's a great time to buy.

2 Cute will also have a challenge and a FREE digi image starting May 13th!! Please make sure to join us.

I've used the Owl Miss You digi image for my Mother's Day card. This little owl is perfect for any occasion. (Teacher Appreciation and the end of school is coming up) I also love that it's a digi image...I flipped this image so that the flower would be to the left of the owl instead of the right. It suited my sketch better that way; which is why I'm a huge fan of of digi images. You can manipulate them to fit your needs. Need it larger? smaller? NO PROBLEM!!

I LOVE this card. Don't you love when a project turns out better than you expected? Even my hubby loved it. When he saw it yesterday he said, "Oh, don't give that one away!" LOL

I want to share a quick tip with you....I didn't have the right colored flower to use on this card, so I found a little ivory rose in my stash and colored it with my Copic marker to match PERFECTLY!!! I love my Copics. :)  I'm always finding new ways to use them.

Exciting News!!!

I am so EXCITED!!! I have been asked to be a Design Team member for 2 Cute Rubber Stamps!!! I am so flattered that they asked me to join their team. Starting this Thursday I'll be showing you a card or other project using 2 Cute Rubber Stamps.

And more exciting news....my nephew is graduating from high school in a few weeks and he asked if I would make his invitations for his party.  I'm still not finished with all of them but wanted to show you what I've been working on.  I know I disappeared for over a week but with mass producing these invitations, visiting with my mom, and going to Disney World twice last week...I've been a very busy girl!  LOL

The stamps are Just Rite Stamps, and this is the first time I've used them after buying them over a year ago.  (Hubby was happy to hear that the stamps I had to have finally got used!)  Oh I don't want to forget to mention that this is a TOTAL CASE of Sharon Johnson's card at No Time To Stamp.  I did change the ribbons and the medallion and now that I have I think it looks a little like a Blue Ribbon you'd win for the best apple pie!  LOL

I am DYING to color so check back this week, and especially Thursday ;) for a Mother's Day card.

This card is for the Paper Cutz Challenge # 39 = Graduation

Thanks for stopping by!!
