2 Cute Manatee Friends

I'm in a summer mood, are you?  It is BLAZING hot here in Florida,  actually it's too hot be be outside most of the day.  Even so, we still try to go outside and enjoy the sunshine a little bit everyday.

Since it is so hot outside I was going for a "cool" refreshing feeling with this adorable Manatee Friends digital image by 2 Cute Rubber Stamps.  Since this is a digital image I created a text box and did my sentiment right there alongside the image.  Super Easy!!  Don't know why I haven't thought to do this before.

I decided to embossed the DP with my Cuttlebug embossing folder to look like bubbles.  I then twisted and glued my ribbon to look like seaweed.  Not sure the satin ribbon was the best choice for this, but you get the idea.

Boys Will Be Boys - 2 Cards Today!!!

Real quick post with more Father's Day cards for you today.

Both images and sentiments are from Taylored Expressions, Boys Will Be Boys.
I stamped this image on Kraft cardstock and then colored it with my Copic markers.  Copic Creations has a challenge going on right now to use your Copics on "other" paper and since I had never tried that before, I decided this image would work perfectly to give it a go. I'm pretty impressed with how it came out actually. It's different coloring on Kraft because your colors don't show up how you normally expect them to, but I liked it.

Challenges:

Copic Creations = #30 "Other" paper
Paper Play Challenge = #24 Something Old (Designer Paper)
Raise The Ba= #23 What a Special Guy
My Time To Craft Challenge = #95 Xtra Special

Recipe:
DP: Recollections, Autumn & Basic Grey, Origins
Kraft Paper: Papertrey Ink
Brads: Unknown

Copics: E57, E35, E31, Y17, Y15, R29, R46, C7, C5, C3, C2, C1

And here's card # 2

Again, a quick and easy card.  Both of these cards were also made with my scraps!!!  (I swear, I get such a big kick out of using my scraps!!!)  The tie's were paper pieced and shaded with my C1 Copic marker.

Happy Birthday Tyler !!

Where does the time go?  I mean REALLY!!  I was holding my baby girls hand yesterday as she took a nap and realized that a year from now she probably won't need/want me to hold her hand until she falls asleep.  She's so tiny that it's easy to still see her as a baby (she's only 2 1/2) but she is turning into a big girl and I won't even realize it until it's already happened.  :(  Not fair!!    It goes by too fast.  I've been trying to video tape silly everyday little things lately so that I will at least be able to listen to their tiny little voices and the cute way they pronounce things.  (Oh, gosh....now I'm crying.....)

Anyway, I've been thinking about these things because my sister's "baby" is turning 17 tomorrow!!  Tyler has grown up into a smart, handsome, kind young man.  But I remember when he was still bald at 2 years old and how I let him eat brownies for breakfast when he would spend the night with me.  That was only YESTERDAY!!!!  It is impossible that 17 years have passed!!!

We've always been very close.  When I sat down to make a card for his birthday, I thought, "Oh geez, he isn't going to want a handmade card from his Aunt".  But then I realized....yes he will!   He will honestly love it.  He will love it because he loves me and thinks what I do is cool.  He's not the embarrassed teenager type.  He will love the cash inside more ;) and ask me why it doesn't have a monkey on it, (he loves monkeys) but he will love it.   :)

The entire card was made from my scraps.  (I love using my scraps!!)  The DP is Wild Asparagus "handsome" and the buttons are tied with white twine that I colored with my Copic markers.  The image is Lili of The Valley, Big Present.  I distressed the edges and then inked them with Memento Eggplant chalk and used a CB embossing folder..  The present was paper pieced using the same DP just turning the stripes.

Copic's Used:

Shorts: BV08, BV04, BV02
Shirt: G99, YG95, YG03
Belt: E34, Y15
Shoes: E31, E41, E35, E42
Skin/Cheeks: E00, E50, R00
Hair: E59, E35, E31

It's a Lazy Afternoon!!

My new Lili Of The Valley stamps came over the weekend and I'm having so much fun playing with them.  I've been using digital stamps so much lately that I almost forgot how much fun it is to play with actual stamps. (Get ready to see lots of new cards with these stamps, LOL)  I thought this image, Lazy Afternoon, would make a perfect Father's Day card.  I have 5 Father's Day cards to make!!!  This was going to be for my Dad, but when my husband saw it he said he wanted to give it to his dad!!  I was so flattered that he loved it so much.

I used my new Basic Grey Origins DP (that my sister made me buy, LOL) and a few brads...simple right?  Well, this card stressed me the heck out!!!  I could not get the coloring right, I wanted it to look softer, vintage like but I guess that's just not my style because no matter how much I tried it just wouldn't work.

Howdy!!

Good Morning!!  I'm late again, sorry.  My sister and niece are visiting and I actually forgot that it was Tuesday!!  Which is 2 Cute Tuesday, if you didn't know already!!  :)

I made this card for my handsome hubby for Father's Day using Original Cowboy Kid Digi from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. Isn't he ADORABLE?!?!? He's my favorite image from 2 Cute and I've been saving him for Father's Day. This was going to be a card from my son to Daddy, but I came up with a cute sentiment for the inside and made it from me instead. LOL

I was able to play with my new Basic Grey, Max and Whisker's DP, a few button's from my stash tied with jute and call it DONE!!  This little guy was so fun to color too!!  The sentiment inside and out are computer generated (font: Comic Sans).  I had a really hard time keeping it simple to give to a man...I was dying to put ribbon on it.  LOL  :)

Hello Friends!!

Did you miss me?  ;)  I know my break has been a little longer than a week, but it has been much needed.

I'm happy to get back into the swing of things, and what better way than with a new challenge.
Aud Sentiments 4th challenge starts today with the sentiment, "Hello Friend".  Remember that the only rule we have is you have to use the exact phrase (you can add to it if you'd like) on your card or project,  but the words, "Hello Friend" have to be there.

I was so excited when I found out that our sponsor for this challenge is Soft Pencil. I love cute images and Elizabeth's images are really adorable.  And one lucky winner will receive a $10 Voucher to spend in their store.

2 Cute - Thank You Cat

Good morning everyone!!  I'm a little late this morning getting this posted after a wonderful 3 day Memorial Day weekend.  Hope your weekend was great too!  My weekend started on Friday evening when I went to a crop and dinner with my friend Jennifer where we had a blast!  The next morning my sister and I went to the Orlando Scrapbook Expo where I was able to finally spend the money that had been burning a hole in my pocket for the last few months.  LOL :)  So many new goodies to play with and to organize.  I was also able to meet in person my blogging buddy Kerri.  ~Hi Kerri!! ~  She is super talented and I was able to scope out some of her new goodies too.  I finished up the weekend helping my adorable husband assemble a MEGA playgound for the kids.   I'm exhausted, but a good exhausted.  :) Okay, enough about my weekend.

I let my 2 year old daughter Brooke choose which 2 Cute Rubber Stamp image for me to use this week and she chose Thank You Cat.  I've been wanted to use this image before it was even a stamp.  How is that?  Well, Heidi the Owner/Designer of 2 Cute Rubber Stamps shows her sketches on her Blog and asks her fans for feedback on them. It helps her to know what you'd be interested in seeing turned into a digital, cling or wood mounted stamp. When I saw her sketch of Thank You Cat, I let her know that I'd love to see it as a stamp...okay I begged. LOL But the point is, she listened and now here it is. :)

Make sure you pay a visit to Heidi's Blog where you can make comments and suggestions on her sketches. Your favorite just might be turned into a stamp during the next 2 Cute release. She also keeps you updated on everything that is going on with 2 Cute and showcases fan projects as well.

I'm going to be taking a bit of a blogging/crafting break.  I've been doing so much playing that now all my work and other projects are all piling up on me.  So I'll be using this time to catch up on housework :( and organize all those new goodies I got this weekend. :)  I'll see you in about a week!!
